US Financial Markets r very strong & it was going strong for sometime seeing their financial performance. The raising of interest rates by Federal Reserve is an indication to this effect since they hiked rates to slow down their growth so that inflation wo not pick up on larger demand led growth.
Indices r scoreboard for the Market & it will fluctuate in tandem with how the market moves. The indices r created such a way that they will never show contridictory signals to those of the general market direction. If at any point in time the creators & managers of the index finds that their index is showing erroneous movment then they will change the representative companies comprising the stock or change the weights of existing companies for calculating the index.
